In recent days, the traffic police stopped a motorist who took the A5 motorway in the wrong direction. The driver, a 72-year-old from Turin, entered the motorway at the Châtillon tollbooth and traveled in the wrong direction for more than twelve kilometers, up to Verrès, when she was intercepted and blocked by the Pont-Saint-Martin highway.

No one was injured thanks to the quick reflexes of the drivers who were traveling along that stretch of the A5.

The administrative sanction provided for by the Highway Code in these cases was applied to the motorist, from 2,046 to 8,186 euros. For the woman, the administrative detention of the vehicle for three months and the withdrawal of the driving license for the purpose of revocation were also ordered.
