A press report revealed the position of Xavi Hernandez, the current coach of Barcelona, on leaving the ranks of the Catalan team at the end of the current season.
Xavi had announced his departure from Barcelona at the end of the current season, after the harsh criticism he received from the Catalan media, following the loss of the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid, and exclusion from the King’s Cup.
Barcelona President Joan Laporta held a meeting with Xavi to discuss his final decision whether to stay or leave.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said on his official account on the social networking site “X”: “Xavi has decided to change his mind and remain as Barcelona’s technical director.”
He added: “After tonight’s meeting and Laporta’s insistence on his staying, Xavi agreed to Barcelona’s terms, and will continue in his position as technical director.”
Press reports have come out recently about the desire of the Barça administration to make an amendment to the current technical staff of Xavi, and to dispense with the physical equipment and the general coach, who is his brother Oscar Hernandez.
