Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 17 Series in Indonesia as of September 16, 2026. The new lineup, which follows the Redmi Note 15 Series released in January, introduces the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G as the highest-tier model for the first time in the history of the Redmi Note series. This flagship variant features a 10,000 mAh battery, marking the largest battery capacity Xiaomi has ever included in a smartphone.
The series is built under the Built for Years
philosophy, focusing on device durability, battery life, and long-term after-sales support. The lineup consists of four models: the Redmi Note 17, Redmi Note 17 5G, Redmi Note 17 Pro, and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.
Battery Capacity and Charging Specifications
A primary upgrade for the series is the implementation of the Redmi Titan Battery System, which utilizes silicon-carbon technology. Every model in the series now carries a minimum battery capacity of 7,700 mAh. The specific battery and charging details for the lineup include:
- Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G: 10,000 mAh battery with 100W HyperCharge, capable of charging the device in approximately 20 minutes. It also supports a power bank function to charge other devices up to 100 percent.
- Redmi Note 17 Pro: 8,340 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 67W fast charging.
- Redmi Note 17 5G: 7,700 mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
- Redmi Note 17: 7,700 mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
Xiaomi claims the 10,000 mAh battery in the Pro Max model can last up to three days under normal usage. Across the entire series, battery health is designed to remain at 80% or higher after 1,600 charging cycles, which the company equates to roughly six years of normal use.
Durability and “Titan Quality” Certifications
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G and Pro Max 5G are the first smartphones in the industry to receive the TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan Quality Certification. This certification covers tests for water resistance, impact resistance, and battery reliability. Specifically, the Pro Max model is claimed to withstand being submerged in water up to 2 meters deep for 72 hours and can survive drops from heights of up to 3 meters onto hard granite surfaces.
Physical protection for the Pro models is provided by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, an MDA reinforced mid-frame, a high-strength motherboard frame, and internal shock-absorbing cushion structures. The Pro Max also includes a dedicated underwater camera mode operated via physical buttons.
Regarding IP ratings, the Redmi Note 17 has been upgraded from IP64 to IP65. The Pro and Pro Max models maintain ratings of IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.
Display and Hardware Performance
The Redmi Note 17 Pro and Pro Max feature 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED displays with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The standard Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 5G feature larger 6.99-inch screens. All models in the series are equipped with stereo speakers.
Processing power varies across the models:
- Redmi Note 17: Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 (2.9 GHz), replacing the MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra.
- Redmi Note 17 5G: Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 (2.3 GHz), replacing the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3.
- Redmi Note 17 Pro: Upgraded to UFS 3 storage.
Software features across the lineup include integration with Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google, alongside AI tools for photo editing and productivity.
Pricing, Availability, and Warranty
The Redmi Note 17 Series is available through a pre-order period from September 16 to 24, 2026, with general sales running from September 25 to October 15, 2026.
Prices for all variants have increased by between Rp1.3 million and Rp1.5 million compared to previous generations. For those purchasing the Pro 5G and Pro Max 5G between September 16 and October 15, Xiaomi is offering a “No. 1 Warranty” which includes:
- Extension of the warranty period to 24 months.
- One-time back cover replacement within 24 months.
- One-time battery replacement for up to 36 months.
The Pro Max 5G also provides security updates and a software experience designed to feel new for up to six years.
