Smartphone Companies Enter the Electric Car Industry
Smartphone companies are expanding their horizons and venturing into the electric car market. Following the footsteps of Huawei, Xiaomi has recently introduced its electric car, the SU7, as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model S EV car.
At first glance, the Xiaomi car bears a striking resemblance to the Tesla Model S. The company has partnered with the Chinese automobile company BAIC Group to manufacture the car, which has drawn comparisons to the Porsche Taycan.
The SU7 is positioned as a luxury sports car, featuring stylish alloy wheels and a 4-door design with dimensions of 4,997mm length, 1,963mm width, 1,455mm height, and 3000mm wheelbase.
In terms of battery technology, the car offers two options: a 73.6 KWH battery pack facility and a 101 KWH battery pack facility. The SU7 is built on a new battery technology called CTB (Cell to Body), which results in a more rigid body and additional interior space.
One of the most impressive features of the SU7 is its range. The car boasts a range of 800 kilometers on a single charge, and Xiaomi has plans to introduce a V8 model in 2025 with a large 150 KWH battery pack and a range of 1,200 km.
In terms of power capacity, the SU7 can reach up to 21 thousand RPM, with its V6 motor delivering 299 BHP of power, and the V6S variant offering 374 BHP. The car also boasts a maximum torque of 635 NM, a top speed of 210 KM/H, and a top variant that can reach 265 KM/H.
The SU7 comes equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Autonomous Driving facilities, Self-driving technology, high-performance cameras, and ultrasonic sensors, making it one of the most advanced cars in its segment.
