Overnight Conditions and Yellow Warnings
Overnight, skies will be mostly cloudy with intermittent clearings. A new precipitation zone is expected to move across Latvia from the northwest, bringing widespread rain. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in eastern regions, accompanied by the risk of thunderstorms that will persist into the morning, prompting the issuance of a yellow warning.
The yellow warning also extends to coastal areas, the northwest, and west, where wind gusts could reach up to 20 meters per second (m/s). Temperatures are expected to drop to between +10 and +16 degrees Celsius overnight.
Riga Weather Outlook
Riga is also forecast to experience mostly cloudy nights with potential lightning strikes, some of which may be strong. Northwest and west winds in the capital will intensify in the morning, with gusts up to 20 m/s. Temperatures in Riga will fall to +14 and +15 degrees Celsius.

Rain is expected to continue in many parts of Latvia on Sunday, with heavier downpours likely in central and eastern areas. West and northwest winds will remain gusty, reaching 15-17 m/s in some regions, while eastern areas will experience slower wind speeds. The maximum daytime temperature is forecast to be +16 to +19 degrees Celsius.
In Riga, the sky will only clear briefly, with occasional rain and the possibility of heavy showers and thunderstorms in the morning. Moderate west and northwest winds will blow, with gusts reaching 15-17 m/s, and at times up to 20 m/s, before calming down in the afternoon. The capital’s temperature will hover around +18 to +19 degrees Celsius.
