President Yoon Seok-yeol met with a delegation from the U.S. Congressional Study Group on Korea (CSGK) on the 25th and discussed the development of the ROK-U.S. alliance.
The President’s Office announced that President Yoon met with six members of the CSGK delegation from the US House of Representatives, including CSGK Co-Chairman Ami Vera and CSGK Co-Chairman Young Kim, who were visiting Korea this afternoon, and exchanged opinions on ways to cooperate with the US Congress to develop the ROK-US alliance. CSGK was officially launched in February 2018 as a bipartisan research group on Korea within the U.S. Congress. It currently consists of approximately 80 members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
President Yoon said, “I welcome the visit to Korea by the CSGK delegation, a group of members of the U.S. Congress who most love Korea,” and added, “As a strong supporter of the ROK-U.S. alliance, CSGK has expanded the support base for the ROK-U.S. alliance within the U.S. Congress and contributed to the development of the relationship between the two countries.” “A lot of effort has been put into promoting this,” he said.
