Colts’ Zack Moss plans to play Sunday despite shoulder injury

Despite injuring his shoulder during Saturday’s win over the Steelers, Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss plans to play Sunday at Atlanta, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

X-rays on Moss’ shoulder came back negative, but he will need to “see how he progresses through the week,” according to a source.

Moss did not return to the game after getting hurt on a 16-yard scoring pass from Gardner Minshew in the second quarter. This injury comes after Moss broke the same arm during the preseason.

The loss of Moss in the first half was a big blow for the Colts, who were already without starting running back Jonathan Taylor due to a thumb injury. However, the team was able to rely on third- and fourth-string runners Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson, who combined for 157 rushing yards during the game.

Goodson, a practice squad running back who had never had an NFL carry, along with Sermon, were able to demoralize the Steelers’ defense during a 70-yard fourth-quarter drive.

Moss has had a solid season so far, accumulating 764 yards rushing and five touchdowns. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to take the field on Sunday, but his presence would certainly provide a boost for the Colts as they look to continue their winning streak.
