Bali – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky criticized Russia during the G20 summit. Addressing the summit via video conference, Zelenskiy referred to the ‘G20’ as the ‘G19’, excluding Russia. Zelensky stated that the war will end only on the basis of international laws and UN recommendations and is not ready to compromise on the independence and sovereignty of the country.

Zelensky’s remarks were made in the presence of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. However, Lavrov said that the reason for the prolongation of the war is Ukraine and that they are not ready to negotiate. Most of the countries that participated in the summit strongly criticized Russia.

US President Joe Biden has said that Russia’s nuclear threat is irresponsible and there should be no further nuclear war. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also demanded that Russia recognize Ukraine’s sovereignty. However, Chinese President Xi Jinping did not mention the Ukraine-Russia war anywhere in his speech. The response was that the world should move forward in unity.
