The metaverse will not be built in a day. Just like Virtual Reality devices are not going to be democratized overnight. According to ‘The Information’, which cites Meta sources, the company owned by Mark Zuckerberg is working on the development of four different viewers that should reach the market before the end 2024.

The company, to which tools such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp belong, is the one that is betting the hardest, to date, on the development of this new virtual world in which users can meet, play sports or play video games through the use of digital avatars.

The first device to be presented will be Project Cambriaa Mixed Reality viewer (with Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality capabilities) that is expected to cost more than the current Meta Quest 2 and to hit stores before the end of 2022.

According to the information of the aforementioned medium, the glasses will have an approximate price of $799.

From the company they point out that the image quality that Project Cambria will offer, as well as its components and battery, will be much better than those of the company’s current VR glasses. Precisely, ‘The Information’ points out that Meta Quest will receive dThe new models in the next two years. One will arrive in 2023 and another in 2024. The code names of these glasses are Stinson and Cardiff.

Finally, in 2024, Meta plans to introduce the viewer Nazare AR, designed specifically for Augmented Reality -that is, so that the user who wears them can see information and graphics superimposed on the real environment in which they find themselves-. In principle, the glasses are expected to work completely independently and not have to be connected to any other device to be functional.
