a look at the more human side of the disease

by time news

After the editions of 2020 Yes 2022Cinfa presents the third volume of the book ‘The patient’s gaze’. In this case,⁣ the work collects twenty new photographs, selected from those presented in the competition of the same name, ⁤with the aim of conveying the daily reality of‍ people with life stories marked by illness and disability.⁤ Each snapshot, in‌ its own way, shows us the most human and harsh side of the disease, but also a day full of ⁤emotions, tenderness and beauty.

Together with ⁤the photographs we will be able to read twenty stories inspired by them written by figures from the world of art, ⁤sport, culture or gastronomy of our country. The astronaut Sara García, the writer ⁤Ángeles Caso, the athlete Alex Roca, the actress Lola ⁤Herrera, the ‍chef Ferran Adrià and the ⁤actor Miguel Ángel Muñoz are some of the authors who⁢ tell ‌us about⁢ it, from an intimate and personal point of view , the stories hidden behind every snapshot.

“Page after‍ page, we ‍have revealed the stories of‍ patients and the people who care ⁢for them to make us look at everything in a different, more⁣ human, more empathetic way”,‌ explains⁢ Enrique⁤ Ordieres, president of Cinfa. From Cinfa we invite⁢ you to ⁣read ‘The ‍patient’s gaze’ from the pause and from the‍ emotion. And then, open your eyes ‌around you with ‌a gaze that goes⁤ beyond the obvious and digs into the depths of every patient, every ⁣illness, every story, every person.

Recognition of patient associations

With this work, Cinfa also aims to recognize and support Spanish patient ⁢organizations, ⁣which carry out essential support work. For ⁤this reason, each image in the book is linked to a‌ different association,‌ chosen ‍by the author ⁣of the photograph, and receives a donation from Cinfa. “We at Cinfa want to express, ⁤once again, ‌our admiration, recognition and support to all the Spanish patient associations, who know‌ they can count on us”, adds Enrique Ordieres.
