Al-Shorta draws with Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor in the Asian Elite Club Championship

Al-Shorta Club tied with its guest, Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan, today, Monday, (0-0) at Karbala International Stadium in the third round of the league stage competitions (West Region) in the AFC Elite Champions League 2024-2025.

The two teams exchanged attacking attempts during the match, with the advantage in favor of Al-Shorta, but neither of them succeeded in reaching the goal. Al-Shorta’s performance improved in the first half and they took the initiative on many occasions, most notably when the attackers made a great effort inside the penalty area but without scoring goals.

The fourth round of the Al-Gharb region competitions will be held on the 4th and 5th of next November, with Al-Wasl facing Al-Sadd, Al-Ahly facing Al-Shorta, Persepolis facing Al-Gharafa, Al-Hilal facing Esteghlal, Pakhtakor facing Al-Rayyan, and Al-Nasr facing Al-Ain on the 5th.

Al-Shorta tied in the first round with Al-Nasr 1-1 in Baghdad, then lost in the second round 0-5 to Al Hilal in Riyadh. On the other hand, Pakhtakor lost in the first round 0-1 to Al Wasl in Tashkent, and tied in the second round with Persepolis 1- 1 in the two holy months.

The clubs that finish in the top eight positions in the Western Region qualify for the league stage, in order to compete in the round of 16.
