iPhone 17 Air with an expensive and very thin display”/>
According to Digitimes, Apple has already identified the technology and supplier that will help it create the thin iPhone 17 Air, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
Taiwanese display chip maker Novatek plans to begin mass production of OLED TDDI technology in the second quarter of 2025. Experts believe that the delivery schedule may coincide with the release of displays for the 2025 iPhone. This allegedly indicates a connection between the companies, but there is no confirmation of this yet.
It is expected that the iPhone 17 Air will have a thin body, similar to the iPad Pro M4 presented in the spring. It is OLED TDDI technology that will allow Apple to create the same smartphone with a thin screen. OLED TDDI technology is also expected to be used in future iPads, Apple Watches, and foldable iPhones or iPads.
According to rumors, the presentation of the iPhone 17 Air, also known as Slim, will take place in the fall of 2025. The smartphone is credited with using a 6.6-inch display and just one rear camera for the sake of design. It is assumed that the iPhone 17 Air will be more expensive than the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max.
