Organized by the Horse Show Association, under the high Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the event highlights innovation and the challenges to modernize this sector and guarantee its sustainability, especially that it plays a crucial role in the agricultural, economic and cultural development of our country.
The 2024 edition, placed under the theme “Horse breeding in Morocco: innovation and challenge”, also has a socio-economic dimension, highlighting professions linked to the world of horses: the manufacture of modern and traditional saddles, ironwork, the manufacture of tbourida rifles (Mkohla), companies specializing in equine nutrition, veterinary medicine laboratories as well as equestrian tourism professionals.
The El Jadida Horse Show is also committed to supporting and encouraging Moroccan artisans, holders of ancestral know-how dating back several centuries, while seeking to bring together and unite the different components of the equine sector. This event constitutes a true festivity of equestrian heritage in its cultural, historical and scientific dimensions, with the exhibition of works of art, manuscripts and other pieces related to the world of horses. Thematic conferences and seminars will also be organized around thes subjects.
On a sporting and festive level, the Show offers a rich and varied program intended for professionals as well as the general public, with equestrian shows and competitions.
This edition thus reaffirms the commitment of the Show to contribute to the development of the equestrian sector in Morocco, by focusing on innovation and the challenges to be met to modernize this field and ensure its sustainability. This sector plays a key role in the agricultural,economic and cultural development of the country,notably through the improvement of equine breeds and their use in various fields such as sport,tourism and agriculture. Innovation in breeding techniques helps improve the health and performance of horses, while meeting environmental and economic challenges.
As a major event promoting the equine sector, this year the Show once again offers a diversified program for professionals and the general public. Numerous high-level competitions will highlight the excellence of the riders and the beauty of the horses.
Like previous editions, the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of show jumping and the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Tbourida will be at the heart of the competitions. Ther will also be championships dedicated to Barbes, Arabian-Barbes, and purebred Arabian horses, allowing participants and spectators to appreciate the splendor of the horses and the talent of the riders.
In parallel with these competitions, the Show program includes a series of scientific and cultural conferences hosted by renowned experts and researchers in the field of equine breeding, highlighting the latest innovations and challenges in the sector.
The Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural development, Water and forests, Mohammed Sadiki stressed that this edition will see the participation of more than 100 exhibitors and 40 countries, and will see the institution of in-depth debates in the framework of conferences on the development of the equine industry, as well as innovation and technological developments in this area.
The Minister indicated that the development of the equine sector, which is part of the program contract for the development of the value chain of this sector, signed last year, will particularly support small farmers, breeders of horses locally and nationally, and also artisans and rural tourism.
And to note that the Show, which plays an important role in the promotion and development of the equine industry, constitutes an opportunity to highlight the importance of horses in the cultural heritage of the Kingdom, specifying that the 2024 edition will offer a rich program , including sporting events, conferences, equestrian shows, Tbourida competitions and various exhibitions.
Thus, the program for the 15th edition will highlight the main national projects and programs aligned with the development strategies of horse breeding, while highlighting the contribution of the Show to the promotion and influence of this sector in Morocco.
