In that sense, it emerged that the lack of electricity affected the distribution of milk in that Cuban province. This is because the food could not be refrigerated before processing.

The general director of the Provincial Dairy Products Company, Eddy González Hernández, indicated to the official newspaper Girón that the main drawback is that since there is no electricity to cool the milk in the collection network, “it arrives at the factory in non-optimal conditions for its pasteurization process and subsequent distribution.”

Likewise, he pointed out that the municipalities most affected by the lack of milk distribution were Matanzas, Colón and Cárdenas.

“At this time the country does not have powdered milk to replace the existing damage. We had a reserve of half a ton and yesterday it was decided to distribute it to our neighborhoods or routes that had an impact for five days in a row,” added the Castro official.

This problem of failures in the distribution of milk due to the collapse of the electrical system on the island, adds to the deep food shortage that plagues the country due to the failed communist model that prevails in the country, and that forces Cubans from ordinary people to having to do everything to be able to get something to eat to take home.
