The 70th National Film Awards Ceremony, the world’s most prestigious event of Indian cinema, was held on Tuesday at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu honored all the winners on this occasion. This year the most prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award was given to veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty. The National Film Awards were announced in the month of August. Mithun Chakraborty was given the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema. This is a life time achievement award. After this, while addressing the event, Mithun Da said, ‘I used to complain a lot to God that you gave me name and fame but why is He giving me so much trouble. Because I definitely got everything, but I did not get anything served on a plate. But today after receiving this award, I stopped complaining. Thank you Bholenath. I have an old temple in Kolkata. How many years did I serve that temple? I told him thank you, because God you gave me everything back with interest.
Giving lessons to the new generation of artists, the veteran actor said, ‘I would like to say to the young boys coming today that there are a lot of young talents, but they are short of money. Like it was with me. I would say that you should not lose courage, dream a lot. Fall asleep yourself but don’t let your dreams sleep. Because if I can become it then everyone can become it.
