The search for Sofía Delgado Zúñiga, a 12-year-old girl who had disappeared on September 29 in the town of Villagorgona, Candelaria, had a tragic end.
The body of the minor was found lifeless in a cane field in the La Regina sector, a rural area of the municipality.
Sofia had last been seen when she left her grandmother’s house to buy shampoo for her pet.. From that moment on, his trail was lost, which unleashed an intense search that culminated in the painful discovery this Thursday. According to first reports, the minor’s body showed apparent signs of sexual violence, which has generated deep indignation in the community and the country.
The authorities reported that two people were captured as alleged responsible for the crime. One of the detainees is a man who would be a neighbor of the victim and, according to initial investigations, he was the last person to see her alive. The captured woman is also being investigated to determine her possible involvement. The body was transferred to Forensic Medicine in Cali, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact causes of his death.
