According to what has been learned, the 36-year-old was hit by a bullet in the chest, suffering wounds a few centimeters deep. She died shortly after arriving at the medical center. Born and raised in Venaria, where her parents live, she recently moved to Portugal.
According to the acting head of the Mentawai Islands Regional Disaster Management Agency, Lahmudin Siregar, the accident occurred while Manfrini was chasing waves yesterday morning in the waters of Pulau Masokut island.
“Suddenly, a hawk jumped towards Manfrini and hit her in the chest,” he said, quoted by the Indonesian agency Antara. According to information received from the police, Manfrini asked for help from two people on the scene, who the Indonesian agency identifies as Alexandre Ribas and Massimo Ferro.
