“At the moment, the way things are going in tourism, I would say it doesn’t matter if we have a regular cabinet. It turns out that the official minister of tourism is much more active, much freer.” Prof. Rumen Draganov, director of the Institute for Analyzes and Evaluations in Tourism, stated this on bTV.

“We have had six tourism ministers so far. Those connected with a regular government are subject to some padishah, and cannot make any decision without asking. When the padishah tells them anything, regardless of whether it is in the interest of tourism, they are “for”. When we have a caretaker minister – they make independent decisions and very actively set out to fix things,” he added.

He stated that by the end of September, 10.7 million foreigners had entered the country.

“This is 200 thousand more than in 2019. Our prediction for now is coming true. These months – October, November and December – turn out to be much stronger. There are many tourists on the streets. The flight program of Sofia Airport is bigger than what it was in the last three months of 2019,” Draganov also stated.

“Tourism is done as it is. We have tourism with lifts, we have tourism without lifts. Everything has a price. Bulgaria needs 60 lifts. It is the most ecological transport. Imagine elevators along the Black Sea,” said Draganov.
