To date, there have been a total of 16 reports of illegal activity related to the buying and selling of votes in the territory of the Dobrich region, reports the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Checks have been carried out on all reports and the materials have been reported to the prosecutor’s office, the police pointed out and specified that pre-trial proceedings have been initiated for two of the reports. The two reports with initiated pre-trial proceedings were received from the villages of Lyahovo and Krushari. After checks, two notebooks and a sheet of paper containing names and amounts written against them were found at both places.
According to the schedule, the election materials – ballots, rolls for machine voting and protocols – were distributed to the municipalities in accordance with the schedule adopted by the Central Electoral Commission for the organization and production of elections for people’s representatives on October 27, reports the regional administration in Dobrich.
According to preliminary electoral lists, the total number of voters in Dobrich region for the upcoming vote is 175,477. In the elections for people’s representatives in the 50th National Assembly, held on June 9 of this year, 171,861 people had the right to vote. 376 election sections will be formed in the district, including in specialized institutions – hospital, homes for the elderly, investigative detention, as well as 2 mobile sections, announced the chairman of the Dobrich District Election Commission, Tsonka Velkova. She added that the two mobile polling stations will be in the municipality of the city of Dobrich and the municipality of Dobrichka, one in each. In 244 of the sectional election commissions in the district, voters will be able to vote either by paper ballot or by machine.
159 candidates for people’s representatives in the Dobrich electoral region are fighting for five seats, 27 formations – parties and coalitions, have registered candidate lists in the Regional Election Commission /RIC/ in Dobrich, Velkova announced. There were 185 candidates in the elections on June 9 from 31 formations. The candidates were divided into 27 lists, which is one less than those registered in the CEC for the elections on October 27, Velkova also said.
On election day – October 27, there is no resident of Dobrich who reaches the age of majority, according to a special report.
