Thiruvananthapuram – The government has sanctioned Rs 18 lakh for the salary and other benefits of the State Youth Commission members and employees. At the same time, the government did not agree to the demand of Rs 8.50 lakh as salary arrears of commission chairman Chinta Jerome.

The commission secretary requested the government to allocate 26 lakh rupees for the salary and honorarium of the commission members and others. 76.06 lakh assessed as salary allocation for the Youth Commission for the financial year 2022-23 has been fully spent, the commission secretary informed the government. 9 lakhs was re-allocated for salary and other benefits. However, out of this, Rs 8.45 lakh was spent on the salary and honorarium of the employees for the month of December and the remaining amount was not enough, the secretary allowed the government. It was also requested to allocate Rs. 26 lakhs for the remaining expenses. However, the government has sanctioned only 18 lakhs due to the ongoing financial crisis.
