20 km from Paris: find the ranking and complete results of the race

by time news

The weather was cool but dry this Sunday morning as the runners set out to tackle the Paris 20km, a stone’s throw from the Eiffel Tower. The race went rather well for the French, as Manon Trapp shone among the girls while Yann Schrub came close to winning among the boys.

At 24, the French athlete came first in the women’s race. But he didn’t just win: he delivered a sensational performance. With a time of 1h04′44′’, the Frenchwoman achieved the second best score in the history of the event!

In the men’s race Yann Schrub, 28, narrowly missed out on the gold medal. The French rider fought to the end with the Ethiopian Mekonen Hayimro Yele, before giving up in the sprint. The winner achieved a time of 58′03″… Three seconds less than Yann Schrub.

More than 31,000 people registered this Sunday to participate in the race. If the average age of the participants was 38 years old, there was also no shortage of older ones as the oldest runner was 89 years old! The departure took place from the Pont d’Iéna, with the Eiffel Tower in the background. After completing a lap, the runners arrived at the foot of the lap.
