Twenty people have been detained for up to 24 hours during the police operation in the Haskovo region that began today, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MOI) announced. They are from Haskovo and Lyubimets, and some of them were found with dozens of lists of names and amounts against them, numerous mobile phones, BGN 15,670 and a pistol.
By 4:00 p.m., 67 pawnshops, gaming halls and offices for quick loans were checked in the campaign. There were 44 checked commercial establishments, addresses and risky places, and 71 checked persons from the criminal contingent. Seven warning protocols were issued and five pre-trial proceedings were initiated. Six vote-buying cases have been filed, BTA writes.
With protocols, 30 grams of heroin, 580 grams of marijuana and 2 grams of cocaine were seized. In terms of traffic control, 714 motor vehicle inspections were carried out. 85 acts and 192 slips were drawn up for the detected violations, summarized the ODMVR.
The operation will continue until late in the evening, and the actions of the police against vote trading will last until the elections on October 27.
The action began at 7:00 a.m., and in the first half hour of the actions of the law enforcement authorities, five people were arrested. The number of people arrested under the Law on the Interior rose to nine at noon.
