The J-series engine fitted in the Hunter 350 bike, which starts at Rs 1.50 lakh as the cheapest model of Royal Enfield Motorcycle Company, is excellent.
The 349cc single cylinder 4 stroke engine churns out 20.2 bhp of maximum power at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This model has a 5-speed gearbox. In particular, the Hunter’s mileage of 36.5 kmpl has been certified by ARAI to provide a very sporty experience.
Designed with a twin downtube spin frame, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 gets a 300 mm disc brake at the front and a 270 mm disc brake with dual-channel ABS in the Metro variant, while the lower-priced Retro variant gets only a 153 mm drum and single-channel ABS at the rear.
The Hunter 350 Metro variant gets alloy wheels with 110/70-17 and 140/70-17 at the rear with tubeless tyres. The next retro variant gets the spoke wheel with tube tire 100/80-17 and 120/80-17 tire at the rear. The suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork at the front and a dual shock absorber at the rear.
