Maruti Suzuki Set to Launch New Gen Suzuki Swift with Hybrid Engine in 2024
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the New Gen Suzuki Swift Hatchback in the Indian market in early 2024. The 2024 Suzuki Swift, which was recently unveiled at the Japan Auto Show, comes with several changes, including the introduction of a hybrid engine.
The new Swift will be the first car in its segment to be offered with a Hybrid Powertrain, setting it apart from its competitors in the Indian market.
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be powered by a new 1.2-litre petrol engine, replacing the existing 1.2-litre engine. The vehicle will be offered in two new trims, one with a naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine, and the other with a 12V mild hybrid powertrain. The new engine will come with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed CVT transmission.
In terms of performance, the new Swift will offer slightly less power and torque compared to the current generation Swift. However, it is expected to be a more affordable car in the long run, with better fuel efficiency. The naturally aspirated engine variant is capable of returning a mileage of 23.4 kmpl, while the Hybrid variant can run up to 24.5 kmpl.
The exterior of the new Swift will feature updates, including new LED tail lamps and headlamps, while the interior will feature a new infotainment system and a new instrument cluster.
Current prices of the Swift start at Rs 5.99 lakh and go up to Rs 9.03 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the new generation Swift is expected to be slightly higher than this.
