22 people froze to death – News18 Tamil

Twenty-two people, including nine children, have been killed so far in heavy snowfall in Pakistan.

The Murray area is one of the most famous hill stations in Pakistan. It is currently snowing heavily there. It’s frosty enough for people to freeze. Thus more and more tourists flocked there.

It is said that the number of tourists has increased to a level not seen in 15 years. About one lakh vehicles were coming on the roads coming towards Murray causing heavy congestion. Traffic was disrupted as vehicles could not move. It is said that many tourists froze in their cars due to the frost.

So far 22 people, including 9 children, have died. Their bodies were recovered. Subsequently, military officials have been involved in the rescue operation. About 23,000 vehicles were safely rescued and brought out of Murray. Those trapped in the snow have been rescued and are staying in safe places.

Work is in full swing to remove the ice that is obscuring the roads. Meanwhile, the Punjab government has declared the area affected by the snowfall Murray disaster. Vehicles coming towards Murray are banned.
