3 injured after elevator collapse

An elevator collapsed in a building located in the mayor’s office of Coyoacán, Mexico City. The emergency quickly mobilized emergency services, who reported three people injured as a result of the event.

The accident took place on Thursday in a condominium located at number 361 Nahuatlacas Street, in the Ajusco neighborhood.

According to preliminary reports, three individuals who were about to use the elevator were victims of a sudden fall, resulting in serious injuries.

Medical authorities responded promptly to the scene of the incident, providing care to those affected at the scene.

Due to the severity of their injuries, they were all immediately transferred to a nearby hospital, although their current state of health has not yet been confirmed.

In a twist, it was reported that the injured were playing tasks related to the construction of the same elevator that left them injured.

According to the Secretariat of Citizen Security, the collapse occurred around 1:30 p.m. in a multi-level building, with the elevator falling from a height equivalent to three floors.

Eyewitnesses to the tragic event notified the emergency services, who upon arriving at the scene spoke with the owner of the property. He stated that three workers were carrying out tasks related to the construction of the elevator at the time of the incident.

Civil Protection paramedics diagnosed the injured with various injuries, ranging from bruises to severe fractures.

One of those affected suffered a contusion in the left dorsal region, another a fracture in the right malleolus, and the third was diagnosed with a fracture in the left elbow.
