State Corporation Rostec has offered to invest 41.6 billion rubles. within the framework of the Roadmap for the development of high-tech areas of the “Internet of Things” until 2024, developed by Rostec. According to the press service of the Ministry of Tsifra, the department has not yet received documents from Rostec.
Earlier, following a meeting of the presidium of the government commission on digital development of the state corporation, it was recommended to work out the feasibility and mechanisms for implementing the roadmap at the expense of the federal budget, the budgets of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, extra-budgetary sources and Rostec’s own funds, the ministry noted.
This is the first approved action plan for the Internet of Things in Russia, said a source involved in the work on the document: “Before that, none of the projects in this area have been implemented and actions in this direction have been decentralized.”
The implementation of the roadmap measures is necessary in order to provide developers with tools for building many of their own digital solutions based on IoT technology, noted in Rostec: “Domestic developers will have the opportunity to connect to the capabilities of a wide public infrastructure, thereby significantly reducing the time and financial costs in the process development of digital products. Thanks to this, the number of solutions being developed will multiply. “
If the main condition of the program is fulfilled – investments in the amount of 41.6 billion rubles. – the projected sales volume of Russian companies will reach 230.9 billion rubles by 2024. (in 2020 this figure was 44.4 billion rubles), more smart devices will appear and, as a result, the scale of all sectors of the economy in which they will be applied will increase, Rostec reported.
Funding should be aimed at conducting research, creating a technology platform, supporting developers through development institutions to create industry platforms, applications and services, the state corporation said.
IoT – the technology of connecting devices through a network began to develop due to a decrease in the cost of data transmission and computing power, a rapid increase in the number of connected devices, the development of big data technologies and cloud services that store information. IoT products are used in industry, agriculture, retail and other areas.
