6 Hapoel Tel Aviv over Beitar in the Youth Cup

by time news

Israeli football is back from the break, and with it the youth leagues. Hapoel Tel Aviv this morning (Saturday) hosted Beitar Jerusalem as part of the fourth round of the State Youth Cup and knocked them out of the game after defeating them by a crushing 0:6.

The Reds from Tel Aviv, who are ranked second in the youth Premier League table, came as favorites for the match against the opponent who is below the red line in the league, but no one thought that it would end in such a humiliating way for the team from the capital.

Right from the start, there was only one team on the field, and the host, who completely dominated, began to threaten Kim Zivit’s goal. In the 11th minute, Sebastian Hernandez gave them the lead with a kick from the air, a result that was maintained until the halftime break.

In the second half came the red explosion, which destroyed the Jerusalem defense with five goals. Yad Ramot scored on a penalty kick, Sagi Ganis, Milionu Asert and a pair of Roni Badler completed the celebration at the Khodorov complex.

“We started the game well and Bitar later entered the game. It was an even game until halftime, but in the second half we increased the score with some good actions,” said the winning coach Asaf Gerenstein, who also serves as the director of the youth department. “Our goal is to have as many youth players as possible who will join the senior ranks within a few years.”

On his appointment as a coach, he said: “At the beginning of the season, Michael Zandberg coached and it was important to me that he continue because he is a great coach and a valued figure in the club. The senior team is the priority and it was decided that he will be jumped there. Omar Demari replaced him and decided for personal reasons to leave after a few weeks. We are a team and there is an assistant coach here like Aviv Arnfried, a fitness coach and an assistant coach like Guy Lipka. I’m here to accompany them and as far as I’m concerned I’m at the head of the system and I’m also close to this group.”

the defeated coach, Danny Heyman, sounds a little less satisfied: “All in all, these are young players and the second penalty goal, precisely after our good minutes, broke the team. These are things that should not be lied in football and I told the players that. You can lose a game but not in this way and the breakdown is incomprehensible to me. The breaking point at these ages is very bad for players who aspire to be mature players. It’s a stain on the club. Everyone who played today was ashamed of the symbol on their shirt. Must not be disassembled under any circumstances. We realized at 2:0 that we would not take the cup, but we must not be slack like that. Some of our players did not come that much and it is difficult to play against Hapoel. We are perhaps the youngest yearbook in the league and against Hapoel, who have so many national team players, you pay dearly.”

On the future of the department, he said: “I’ve been here for almost two months and I’m enjoying it. There is a very good future here, this is a young year and there are many patients of the past here. The youth department is very important to Barak Abramov and Kafir Adri as owners and CEO and we are working hard to fix it. We also missed a win against Maccabi, we drew with Petah Tikva. Today’s disintegration is difficult for me to explain, and it doesn’t suit me as a coach either. Things can happen in football: we will sit and talk with the players to understand and strengthen them mentally. The cup is dead, we will return to the league which is the bread and butter and we will have to give everything to get out of this situation. The youth department deserves to be in a much higher place.”
