Improving the well-being and quality of life of people is the main goal of Russia’s national plans, President Vladimir Putin said in his New Year’s address.
“Achievement of our plans, first of all, depends on ourselves, on what we prioritize, what we fill our everyday life with, how hard, actively we take up the task and achieve concrete, visible results. They will form the implementation of our national plans. Their main goal is to improve the well-being and quality of life of people, ”he said.
Solving these problems, according to Putin, will make Russia even stronger. In general, the President dedicated his New Year’s address to the difficulties that the country was able to overcome in 2021. He also expressed condolences to people who have lost their relatives due to the coronavirus.
On December 23, during an annual press conference, Putin said that, despite the high growth rates of consumer prices, this year the real disposable income of the population (excluding inflation, which, according to preliminary estimates of Rosstat, was 8.39% in 2021) will grow by 3.5%. He stressed that this will not be the case for all categories of citizens, since experts represent an average indicator. Last year, the real disposable income of Russians fell by 2%, the president recalled.
On December 29, Rosstat reported that the growth rate of real wages in Russia in October in annual terms slowed down to the lowest level since January and for the first time since that month dropped below 1%, amounting to 0.6%. At the end of October, the average salary in the country amounted to 54,649 rubles.
On the same day, the statistical office reported that the average pension granted in Russia in November amounted to 15,847 rubles, which is 5.3% more compared to the same month in 2020 in nominal terms, but in real terms – taking into account inflation. which in November amounted to 8.4% in annual terms, down 2.8%. In general, the size of pensions in the country in real terms has been falling for the tenth month in a row.
