Organized under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI as part of the Official Tournament of African Chefs (TOC Africa), this prestigious competition celebrates the art of pastry making through events which will showcase the creations of the greatest master pastry chefs. of the African continent.
Candidates will surpass themselves during 10 hours of competition in the “Tasting Trials” and “Artistic Trials” categories. Their spectacular creations, both for the eyes and the taste buds, reflect the excellence and creativity of African pastry chefs.
“This competition constitutes an exceptional showcase to highlight the trends and techniques which make the art of pastry making unique in Africa, while paying homage to the cultural roots which influence the master pastry chefs of the Continent,” declared to the MAP, Kamal Rahal Essoulami, general manager of Rahal Events and president of TOC Africa.
Recalling that Morocco had won the 2022 edition of this continental event, Mr. Rahal Essoulami noted that this competition is growing in size and scope among African pastry chefs and is consolidating Morocco’s position in as a country known for the hospitality of its inhabitants and a high-level gastronomic reference.
The teams that occupy the podium at the Marrakech“>African Pastry Cup will have the opportunity to represent their country in the World Cup which will be held at the prestigious SIRHA show in Lyon in 2025.
Morocco won, Thursday in Marrakech, the 2024 edition of the Bocuse d’Or Africa, another prestigious culinary competition organized as part of the TOC Africa.
The Moroccan team won this prize after 5 hours 35 minutes of competition. Mauritius and Egypt reached the second and third step of the podium respectively.
In addition to strengthening its international influence, Morocco, through these competitions, also reinforces its role as a driving force for African cooperation, via exchanges that transcend borders.
