Hyderabad: India’s young all-rounder Washington Sundar won the Indian cricket team’s ‘Impact Fielder’ award for his brilliant fielding in the recently concluded T20 series against Bangladesh. Washington left Hardik Pandya and Ryan Parag behind in the race for this award. India’s fielding coach T Dilip lauded Washington’s excellent fielding improvement and said he looked like a different kind of player while fielding. India helped Sanju Samson beat Bangladesh in the third Test in Hyderabad on Saturday. Won the T20 series 3-0 after beating the match by 133 runs. In this way, India clean swept Bangladesh 5-0 in the Test and T20 series. Dilip’s number one contender was Pandya. The fielding coach compared his energy on the field to ‘a Formula One car in top gear’.
Parag was the second contender for making even a difficult catch very easy. But Washington left both of them behind on the basis of accurate fielding on the boundary line. He took three catches in the series and bowled with an excellent economy rate of just five runs per over.

India will now face New Zealand in the three-Test home series starting in Bengaluru on October 16. After this, India’s limited overs team will tour South Africa to play a four-match T20 International series next month.
