Rome: Morocco re-elected to the WFP Board of Directors
Rome – Morocco was re-elected, Thursday unanimously at FAO headquarters in Rome, as representative of List A (African countries) within the Board of Directors of the World Food Program (WFP), for a one-year term.

The renewal of Morocco’s mandate, in the person of the ambassador permanent representative of Morocco to the United Nations Agencies in Rome, Youssef Balla, reiterates the confidence enjoyed by the Kingdom in the field of the fight against hunger and malnutrition in Africa and confirms the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening food security and humanitarian actions on a global scale, indicates the Permanent Representation of the Kingdom in Rome.
This election took place during the 174th session of the Council of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which takes place from December 4 to 8, 2023.
Morocco has served on the WFP Executive Board since December 2020 and currently holds the position of vice-president of the said Council and ensures the role of coordinator of African countries within the office of this Council.
