Félix Duka is a good-natured person, it is not always easy to have a serious conversation with him. This material has also been in the works for a few years, but after he recently retired and received the Homokhátság award, the conversation became relevant again.
Tasks and solutions
– Mórahalom is a small town with several related jobs. I like challenges. If they found me with a task, I tried to solve it – he said after we listed the titles and merits mentioned in the introduction. Félix Duka was born in Szeged on January 30, 1959, and spent his childhood in Kalocsá. He was a rock musician between 1979 and 1982, which is how he got to Mórahalom, where he met his wife, whom they married in 1983.
The case must go at all costs
In his early twenties, he was an organizer and video program producer at the Institute for Family and Social Events in Szeged, where Attila Kerek was his boss. (The event and protocol consultant of the Szeged municipality has been a tireless organizer and director of city events, anniversary celebrations, and music competitions for decades.)
He always said that the case, the task, must go ahead at all costs. The first is service, which must be done with honor, respect and humility
– this is how Félix Duka remembered Attila Kerek as a boss.
He made university educational videos
He also worked as an employee of the video studio of the Education Center of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Szeged, producing university educational videos. He told me that a gastric surgery was recorded with a special camera that was inserted into the patient’s stomach, and when the professor opened the stomach with the scalpel, the camera looked out from the inside.
This job was a great experience. There was no internet then, but we managed to transmit a conference projection from the operating room. I found the challenge and innovation in this as well
he said.
Parliamentary secretary and public life
When Zoltán Nógrádi, the mayor of Mórahalom, became a member of parliament in 2002, he asked him to be his parliamentary secretary. As a dowry, he got to know the settlements, leaders, and residents of the subregion. From 2003 the Móra-Net He became the managing director of Mórahalmi Informatikai Szolgáltató Nonprofit Közhhasznú Kft., and the manager of Aranyszöm Rendezvényház. He founded the monthly Térségi Tükör, which at the time had a circulation of 38,000.
During the 22-year management of Aranyszöm Rendezvényház, it was important to me to provide a place for the cultural life of the entire region, for the organization of scientific, tourist and gastronomic events and professional conferences.
