Samsung plans to introduce Qi2 wireless charging technology to its flagship Galaxy S25 series smartphones. This was reported by the Phone Arena portal with reference to insider Roland Quandt, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.

It is noted that Samsung intends to use magnets, like in Apple’s MagSafe, but they will be installed not in the smartphone, but in cases.

In addition, Samsung is preparing to introduce a new wireless car charger, an updated 3-in-1 wireless charger, and a simpler single-device model. Additionally, the company has developed a magnetic card holder reminiscent of the Apple Wallet with MagSafe.

All these accessories are expected to be launched in January 2025 along with the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones.

Apple was the first to use magnets to attach wireless charging and accessories. They are installed both in the smartphones themselves and in branded cases. Manufacturers of Android smartphones use magnets only in cases. Similar solutions are also available from third party accessory manufacturers.
