In the two minute and 40 second clip, recorded by a person who witnessed the events, the mayor is seen physically hitting an indigenous person, who is trying to help a person who was being beaten by police officers and people related to the mayor.

The video shows an angry municipal president grabbing the woman by the hair and pulling her so that she would not intervene: “Where are you going, where, you don’t care,” you can hear her saying.

In a second moment, who was a second candidate for the Senate for the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico once again unleashes his fury against the woman with a slap in the face and then pulling her by the hair.

The attacked female, whose identity is unknown, is helped by several men to remove her from the hands of the mayor, who orders his police officers to arrest a man: “Take him away, take him away,” he orders his police officers.

In a third moment, a police officer is seen pulling the lady, a moment that Pérez Delgado takes advantage of to snatch her cell phone, who makes useless attempts to recover her cell phone from the former candidate’s hands.

Reactions to the aggression of the mayor of San Pedro Ixtlahuaca

Through her official account, federal representative Aracely Cruz (@MAracely_Cruz) pointed out that the mayor’s actions are a reflection of what is happening in Oaxaca.

“The violators in power, enjoying impunity and protection,” he wrote, while demanding that he be investigated and punished for the physical violence against an indigenous woman, which was recorded on video (…) That the hands of the “do not cover this aggressor with impunity again.”

For his part, the governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara Cruz, pointed out that the mayor of San Pedro Ixtlahuaca must leave office and assume responsibilities before the competent authorities.
