The historic site is celebrating the arrival of baby animals with a series of family-friendly events throughout April, offering visitors a chance to connect with nature, learn about agricultural traditions, and create lasting memories. From Easter egg hunts to farm days and special brunch options, Shaker Village is aiming to provide a vibrant experience for all ages.
The festivities kick off with an Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by LG&E and KU on Saturday, April 4, designed for children aged 12 and under. Participants will search for a golden prize egg amidst a collection of candy-filled eggs. Beyond the hunt, the event will feature opportunities to meet newly born farm animals, participate in crafts, and enjoy pony rides. Food trucks will be available for refreshments, and the Shaker Village Bar will be open for adult beverages. Family Farm Days and Brunch with the Babies
The celebration of new life continues with Family Farm Days and Brunch with the Babies, sponsored by LG&E and KU, held on Saturdays – April 11, 18, and 25. From 10:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m., visitors can meet lambs, kids (baby goats), chicks, calves, and other adorable baby animals. The event will also include activity stations, sheep shearing demonstrations, hay wagon rides, pony rides, and story time. Daily admission tickets, ranging from free to $20, are required for the Family Farm Days portion and can be purchased onsite at the Welcome Center.
Brunch with the Babies at The Trustees’ Table offers a complementary experience. Tickets range from free for children five and under to $33, and include admission to Family Farm Days. The brunch features a kid-friendly buffet or continental breakfast. For those preferring lighter fare, a grab-and-go breakfast stand will be available, and the Post Office Shop will offer takeaway sandwiches, salads, chips, and sweets.
