Apple TV has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Neuromancer, a cyberpunk sci-fi drama based on the 1984 landmark novel by Variety. During a Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, the company announced that the series will premiere on Friday, January 22, 2027. The first two episodes will be available on that date, with the remaining eight episodes releasing weekly on Fridays through March 19, 2027.
Plot and Character Details
The 10-episode series follows Case, a damaged, top-rung super-hacker
portrayed by Callum Turner. According to the official plot description, Case is thrust into a web of high-stakes crime and digital espionage alongside his partner Molly, a razor-girl assassin
played by Briana Middleton. Together, the pair attempt to pull off a heist against a corporate dynasty harboring untold secrets. The story is set in the futuristic Chiba City in Japan.
Showrunner Graham Roland described Case as an atypical protagonist
and a survivor who is rough around the edges,
noting that the character is an orphan in the original text. Roland emphasized that the series is focused on Case, stating that the character’s charisma must carry the narrative across the ten episodes. The teaser trailer highlights Middleton’s portrayal of Molly, showcasing her mirror eyes and the deadly fingernails that earned her the “razorgirl” moniker, as well as Mark Strong as Armitage.
Production and Creative Team
The series was created for television by Graham Roland and JD Dillard. Roland serves as the showrunner, and Dillard directed the first three episodes. Both serve as executive producers alongside Jennifer Haley and William Gibson. Other executive producers include David Levine, Garrett Kemble, and Zack Hayden for Anonymous Content, as well as Jason Shrier, Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham, and Adel ‘Future’ Nur for DreamCrew Entertainment. The production is a collaboration between Paramount Television Studios, Anonymous Content, and DreamCrew Entertainment.
Roland noted that the current era is an appropriate time
to adapt the novel, which was written 42 years ago. He pointed out that Gibson coined the term “cyberspace” and explored the collision of human and artificial intelligence before the internet and AI existed in the real world.

The main cast includes Turner and Middleton, alongside Mark Strong, Joseph Lee, Peter Sarsgaard, and Clémence Poésy. Additional appearances feature Dane DeHaan, Max Irons, Junia ress, Jordan Kouamé, Emma Laird, Marc Menchaca, Isabella Pappas, and André De Shields.
The series is the first-ever screen adaptation of Gibson’s debut novel, which won the Philip K. Dick, Nebula, and Hugo awards. The original book served as the foundation for the Sprawl trilogy, which also includes Burning Chrome, Mona Lisa Overdrive, and Count Zero.
