At a Russian military base near Ukraine, 11 people were killed when two pro-Soviet supporters opened fire on other soldiers during a training exercise.
15 others were injured. The Russian Defense Ministry said two Soviet volunteers were killed in the shooting in the Belgorod region of southwestern Russia, along the border with Ukraine.
President Putin has ordered the mobilization of 300,000 Russians to participate in the war in Ukraine.
