/ Yemeni sources reported today, Saturday, that a huge explosion was heard in the city of Hodeidah, according to Sky News Arabia.

And earlier; The US Air Forces Middle East Command said that on the night of January 11 and 12, US fighters and ships attacked 60 Houthi targets in 16 locations in Yemen with support from the British military.

According to US President Joe Biden, the strikes followed several warnings that the Houthis would suffer the consequences of their continued attacks against cargo ships in the Red Sea, and were meant to signal that the country and its allies “will not tolerate” similar actions.

Biden said in a statement issued yesterday, Friday: “I will not hesitate to direct further measures to protect our people and the free flow of international trade as necessary.”

This was the first time the US military responded to the increasing campaign of drone and missile attacks on commercial ships launched by the Houthis after the start of the Israeli war. The brutality of the Israeli occupation attacks has led to the martyrdom of more than 23,000 Palestinians in Gaza since then, most of them women and children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
