A collapsed retaining wall makes it difficult to move along the “Struma” AM at the 16th km, in the lane to Sofia. This is reported by the “Road Infrastructure” Agency.

A large line of cars had formed. Trucks and trailers temporarily move into the overtaking lane.

The bypass route for cars is from the “Daskalovo” road junction, road I-1 Pernik – Vladaya – Sofia, as well as through Malo Buchino.

To facilitate movement on the road Sofia – Pernik through Vladaya, a reverse traffic has been organized, which will remain at night as well.

Heavy goods vehicles in the direction of Sofia pass along the “Struma” highway at the 16th km only in the overtaking lane.

It is assumed that two of the segments of the retaining wall were damaged by the rains. Excavation of earth to a stable foundation has begun immediately. After excavation, drainage trenches will be made over the affected section and drainage ribs along the slope.

In a long-term plan, the preparation of a technical project for the restoration of the drainage and strengthening of the walls in the section at the 16th km in the direction of Sofia will be assigned. The goal is to complete the activities in the current construction season.
