In the church Holy Spirit of the city of Basel (Switzerland) A concert of organ music by Azerbaijani artists will take place, organized with the support of the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Work with the Diaspora, the organizers told Day.Az.

The concert program will feature works by Azerbaijani composers on kamancha and organ. The works will be performed on kamancha by a presidential scholarship recipient, laureate of republican and international competitions Medina Shakhgeldievaand on the organ – participant in national and international projects Shafag Abdullayeva.

In Azerbaijan, kamancha is one of the main elements of classical and folk music, and its performance occupies a central place in many social and cultural events. Kamancha is an integral part of the musical culture of Azerbaijan. Kamancha is indispensable when performing Azerbaijani mugham, which requires an ensemble of three musicians. The soulful music emanating from this bowed string instrument has captivated the world. As you know, “Kamancha string musical instrument making and performing arts” is included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Organ music is a powerful and emotional type of music that can plunge the listener into the depths of the soul, having a strong impact on a person’s emotional state. It stands out for its uniqueness and harmony.

The fusion of these two instruments, the talent of the young musicians and the venue of the evening will make the concert unforgettable.

It should be noted that for the past 30 years, the Church of the Holy Spirit has annually hosted the Piano and Organ Music Festival (Klavier Orgel Festival), and numerous music lovers gather here.
