According to the police representative, the police arrived to evict the man from the apartment, but the man opened fire and injured the policeman and the policeman.
The policeman was wounded in the chest, and the policewoman in the leg. Both were taken to hospital.
After the shooting, the shooter barricaded himself in the apartment, but a special police unit arrived and arrested him.
The police informed that a man was found shot in the apartment. The Lithuanian Bar Association told the ELTA agency that the person who was shot was the lawyer Leonids Pshelintsevs, who was performing his duties. He was 72 years old.
A bailiff was also present at the scene, but was not injured.
Later, at the press conference, the General Commissioner of the Lithuanian Police, Renats Požela, said that the man’s eviction from the apartment was related to the divorce and that he had an illegal firearm, that the policeman’s life was saved by the fact that he had an armored vest, but the executioner was not hit by the bullets because the policeman pushed him aside.
