The terrifying incident occurred when the tourist, asking his father for help, was brutally attacked by sharkwhile his father witnessed the horror from the shore.
The incident occurred in a popular tourist destination in Egypt. Terrified tourists witnessed how Vladimir Popov23, was dragged and torn to pieces by a tiger shark, known as “Meat grinder”, in the city of Hurghada, Egypt. Yury Popov, the victim’s father, watched helplessly from the shore as his son cried out in despair, “Daddy, Daddy!” when the predator was chasing him.

Another later video shows the shark being extracted from the sea in a small boat with a net, before being thrown onto the beach and violently beaten. The shark, still apparently alive and writhing in the sand with a hook in its eye, is mercilessly beaten on the head with what appears to be a metal pole or stick:
The Egyptian authorities confirmed that they managed to capture the shark responsible for the attack on the Russian citizen. Investigators are trying to determine if the shark was responsible for other previous incidents in the zone.
The victim was trying to avoid going to the war in Ukraine
Vladimir Popov was in Egypt for an extended stay, possibly trying to prevent Putin’s call for war in Ukraine. “We went to the beach to relax. My son was attacked by a shark. It all happened in seconds,” his father Yury shared with local media. “It all happened in about 20 seconds…it’s just cruel fate.”
It was initially reported that Popov was with his girlfriend at the time of the incident, but local sources say she is currently in Russia. It is known that another woman who was in the water managed to escape unharmed.
The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the death of a citizen in a shark attack. At the time of the incident, voices from the sea shouted: “Swim far, swim far! Quick, a shark!”.
The attack, about 7 meters from the shore
According to a witness, the incident occurred about seven meters from the shore. “The shark appeared and immediately bit the man. He tried to swim away, but couldn’t. The shark dragged his body for two hours, constantly submerging him.”

The man was parasailing when he fell into the ocean, and a shark jumped out of the water biting his leg. Fortunately, he managed to avoid being dragged underwater. The attack left him seriously injured after being brutally bitten.
And in July of last year, another shark killed a tourist in Sahl Hasheesh, Egypt. The 68 year old diver she had indicated to her partner that she would return to the water “for a moment” before being attacked. Her lifeless body was recovered from the sea after being located near a reef, in a fact that terrified the witnesses present.
