A man was detained in Belarus, who allegedly sent information about the military to the initiative “Belarusian Gayun“. Information about it noticed human rights defenders.

The pro-government channel reports that the detention was carried out by Gomel security forces.

In the “repentance video” the curator says that he “sent the initiative’s chatbot information about the movement of Russian military equipment on the territory of Belarus.”

Such videos are often recorded by the security forces during severe mental and physical violence against detainees. In the rule of law, information obtained in this way would not be considered evidence in court, and the executors and the author of the order would be prosecuted for violating the rules of the matter.

Now Belarus is threatened with a criminal case under Art. 361-4 of the Criminal Code for “facilitating extremist activity”.

“Belarusian Gayun” is a project to monitor military activity, which is managed by the well-known blogger Anton Matolka. The project, based on the information received from citizens, has repeatedly published information about drones in the Belarusian airspace, the movement of Russian military equipment, the exercises of the “Wagnerians” and other things.
