District Court – Montana disregarded the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office for the detention of the accused E.S.T., who on October 4, 2024 in the village of Kriva bara, with the aim of distributing them, stored high-risk narcotic substances without permission, as tried to sell them to another person.

The court, taking into account the accused’s request for a lighter pretrial detention measure and taking into account the evidence collected during the pre-trial and court proceedings, adopted a pretrial detention measure of “house arrest” – the second most severe, compared to E.S.T., ruling its execution at the person’s current address.

According to the reasons for the decision, the accused takes care of his grandmother, who has health problems, as a personal assistant, and performs these duties under an employment contract dated 07/22/2024 at the same address where he lives. This determined the lack of danger for the accused to abscond and formed the conclusion that the determination of a remand measure “house arrest” was adequate.

The decision of the Administrative Court – Montana is subject to protest and appeal before the Appellate Court – Sofia within three days.
