A minor who admitted to having fatally stabbed a 17-year-old teenager in Valenton (Val-de-Marne) during an appointment for a tracksuit sale, was indicted and imprisoned, Monday, December 11, for intentional homicide and attempted of intentional homicide, we learned on Tuesday from the Créteil public prosecutor’s office.
The murder occurred early Friday evening in Valenton, a town of around 15,000 inhabitants in the center of Val-de-Marne. The victim was going to an appointment made on a website to sell jogging pants, according to the police and the prosecution. An adult, who accompanied the teenager during the transaction, was also injured in the thigh without his life threatening, the public prosecutor said.
The prosecution clarified on Sunday that the dispute “concerned the sale of a tracksuit by the deceased victim to a member of the group” and stressed that there was no “no notion of rivalry between gangs” in this altercation. During his custody, the minor accused had “recognized his involvement in the facts”. The imprisoned teenager had already made himself known to the juvenile criminal justice system three times and had “is the subject of educational measures”said this source.
