The Royal Speech called for working hard to complete the strategic projects relating to the governance of water resources, particularly those inherent in the generalization of the transfer of water from hydraulic basins, the completion of the dam construction program and seawater desalination stations, underlined Mr. Mrani Alaoui in a statement to MAP.
The High Royal Guidelines contained in the Speech from the Throne are clear, practical and relevant, explains the academic, adding that the Sovereign underlined in this sense the crucial importance of scientific research and innovation for the development of a real Moroccan seawater desalination industry.
Likewise, Mr. Mrani Alaoui, mentioned the Sovereign’s call for the rationalization of the use of water and the fight against the waste of this vital resource which continues to become rarer due in particular to the succession of years of drought and the repercussions of climate change, noting that preserving water against bad practices remains everyone’s responsibility.
In his speech, the Sovereign defined the contours of an innovative and responsible water policy based on practical actions capable of responding effectively to the challenges of water stress from which the Kingdom has suffered for years.
As a result, good governance, rigor, the federation of efforts, the development of new technologies and the strict monitoring of water projects constitute the key words that must provide solutions to successive water crises, he concluded.
