The portal of electronic services and information systems AMIN (Azerbaijan Multicultural Information Network) is presented in Baku.

As Day.Az reports with reference to Trend, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Ramin Mamedov said this today at the Forum of Religious Figures of Azerbaijan on the topic “Current Issues of Religious Education: Traditions, Experience and Prospects.”

He noted that Azerbaijan is a unique place where different ethnic and religious communities live together, share common values, and play the role of a spiritual bridge between civilizations.

“Life is returning to the territories liberated from occupation, our religious monuments are regaining their historical appearance. At the initiative of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is successfully carrying out work to restore historical and cultural monuments in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. Juma Mosque in Agdam, mosque in Zangilan, Yukhari Govharaga Mosque, Ashaghy Govharaga Mosque, Mamai, Täzya Mähällä, Saatli were put into operation after restoration. The construction and restoration of mosques and the restoration of churches continue in several cities and regions.

As President Ilham Aliyev emphasizes in his speeches, tolerance, multiculturalism, respect for religions are our way of life. Our people, who have high moral qualities, simply have no alternative to respecting other people’s values, traditions, and heritage. In the thinking and historical memory of Azerbaijanis, there is no experience of intolerance towards other peoples and beliefs. For us, ethnic and religious diversity is not a dividing line, but a unifying factor that promotes mutual dialogue. We live in a stable, safe and prosperous society. We have a strong state that accepts all its citizens, regardless of their religion or ethnicity, protecting them from danger.

One of the main goals of the presented portal of electronic services and information systems AMIN is to organize work on religious education at a higher level. We believe that this portal will ensure accessibility and transparency of the services provided by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations. At the same time, the information systems presented by the portal will demonstrate a unique picture of Azerbaijani multiculturalism.

I am sure that during the Forum we will listen to proposals from religious figures, government officials, scientists and members of the public, and we will witness interesting debates. Speeches and panel discussions will give a clear idea of the main directions and current issues of the policy of the Azerbaijani state in the religious sphere. At the same time, this will allow us to study the current situation and problems related to the religious situation in the country, threats and challenges, constructive opinions and proposals on the legislative framework,” the chairman added.

It should be noted that on December 23, a Forum of religious figures of Azerbaijan is being held in Baku on the topic “Current issues of religious education: traditions, experience and prospects,” organized by the State Committee for Work with Religious Structures of Azerbaijan.

More than 100 religious figures, representatives of relevant government agencies, various faiths operating in Azerbaijan, as well as teachers of religious educational institutions, theologians and specialists take part in the Forum.

The forum is aimed at increasing public awareness of religious threats, increasing the role of religious figures in the process of religious education, as well as studying opinions and proposals on the activities of religious communities and figures, and the difficulties they face.
