/ Israeli media reported, on Sunday, that a strong explosion was heard in Haifa Bay near oil refineries.

“The matter was not a security incident,” the Ynet website said, quoting the Israeli police.

The refineries in Haifa reported that there was “a sudden increase in pressure in one of the facilities, which caused the safety disc to break… As a result, there was a sudden sound resembling the sound of an explosion. But the causes are still under investigation.”

The refineries in Haifa confirmed that “the explosion did not lead to injuries.”

Media sources said that the internal front in Israel did not issue any warning.

Haifa is located on the Mediterranean coast, approximately 40 km from Lebanon’s southern border.

For its part, Israeli media quoted the Israeli Fire Authority as saying that the explosion occurred at the Carmel Olivens reactor, which is one of the nuclear reactors in Israel.
