Head of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy, IKI RAS Sergey Bogachev reported a new flare of the highest magnitude on the Sun. This is the second outbreak in two days, Day.Az reports with reference to Russian media.

Strong explosion level X3.3 was previously detected in a large active center on the surface of the Sun, and its consequences may cause weak magnetic storms on October 26.

The maximum of the new outbreak was recorded around 11:00 Baku time, the preliminary score was X1.8. Although this level is lower than the previous outbreak, its impact on the planet may be more noticeable.

Now the active region that caused the flare is moving towards Earth, and its influence on our planet is growing. Peak values can be expected on Monday and Tuesday of next week, Bogachev expressed confidence.

Emissions of solar plasma have already been recorded, but there are no official data from space coronagraphs yet. The specialist emphasized that this active center caused the largest solar flare in seven years – X9.0 on October 3.
